If you have ever thought that you wanted to try yoga, it can be a little intimidating to think about just getting in the door. You might not know what to expect, or maybe you think that you are not flexible enough. We understand what that is like, because we here at SYC were in your shoes at one time, too!
Yoga is an ongoing practice, and the most important thing you need is an open mind. Everyone is welcome here. We have heated classes if you are familiar with yoga and you like to sweat. We have gentle classes that are designed to relax your mind and stretch your body. All level or moderate classes encompass almost everyone.
DID YOU KNOW???
ALL of our Yoga Instructors are certified through Yoga Alliance. This means that each once of us has had a minimum of 200 hours of yoga training instruction, with some of us continuing our study beyond the required minimum.
Why is this important? One of our main philosophies at SYC is that our studio space is a place where you can come to explore your own personal boundaries. At the same time, we want you to do that safely. Yoga Alliance is an association that promotes standards for yoga training and practice. Our training includes yoga techniques, teaching methodology, yoga philosophy and ethics, and anatomy a physiology. When you practice yoga, you feel the posture in your body, while the instructor sees it. A trained instructor can assist you in finding a balance in the pose, help to deepen a pose and also prevent a potential injury.
